Aston Villa have officially submitted a formal complaint to the Premier League and the Football Association after what they describe as a “costly refereeing mistake” in their last fixture of the season. The club contends that a clear officiating error directly impacted the result, which ultimately cost them a chance to qualify for European competitions.
Villa’s manager and players expressed their frustration post-match, urging the authorities to review the incident thoroughly and ensure fairness in future matches.
The Football Association has acknowledged receipt of the complaint and announced that an investigation will take place.
