Leinster second-row forward RG Snyman has been crowned the United Rugby Championship (URC) Players’ Player of the Season for 2024-25, capping off a strong debut campaign with the Irish province.

The 30-year-old South African lock joined Leinster in 2024 after an injury-affected four-year spell at rival Irish club Munster. Snyman quickly made a significant impact, playing a key role in helping Leo Cullen’s squad reach the URC semi-finals.

The prestigious award is voted for by the captains and vice-captains of all 16 URC teams, joining the ranks of previous winners such as Leinster’s Dan Sheehan and Munster’s Jack Crowley.

Other notable URC honours this season include:

  • Coach of the Season: Massimo Brunello (Zebre), who led the Italian side to five victories, including rare away wins at Ulster and Edinburgh.

  • Golden Boot: Ioan Lloyd (Scarlets)

  • Top Try-Scorer: Harri Millard (Cardiff)

  • Playmaker of the Season: Tom Farrell (Munster)

  • Next-Gen Player of the Season: Cameron Hanekom (Bulls)

Snyman was one of two Leinster players selected in the ‘Elite XV’ team, alongside Jamie Osborne. Munster had three representatives with Tom Farrell, Craig Casey, and Tadhg Beirne named in the elite squad.
